Jesus in Quran

“Indeed, the example of Jesus (Isa) in the sight of Allah is like that of Adam. He created him from dust, then said to him, “Be!” And he was!” (Quran 3:59)

01  About Jesus (PBUH)

  • Jesus (Peace be upon him) is a figure loved, honored, and revered by billions of people worldwide.
  • In Islam, Jesus is known as Isa, son of Maryam (Peace be upon her), one of the messengers, God the Almighty (Allah) sent to call his people toward monotheism.
  • His mother Maryam was selected, purified, and chosen over all women of the world by God (Allah). (Quran 3: 42)
  • A Muslim cannot be a Muslim unless he or she believes in all prophets, including Jesus.
  • There is a chapter in the Quran named after Maryam, the mother of Jesus (Quran: Chapter 19)


02  Titles of Jesus (PBUH)

  • Rasool-Allah: Messenger of God (Allah) (Quran 4:171)
  • Kalimah: His (God's) command (Quran 4:171) 
  • Wajeeh: Noble and distinguished (Quran 3:45)
  • Al-Masih: One who touched ill people and cured them with the permission of God (Quran 3:45)
  • Ayah: A sign from The God Almighty (Quran 19:21)
  • Rahmah: Mercy (Quran 19:21)
  • Mubarak: Blessed (Quran 19:31)
  • Abdullah: Slave of God. (Quran 19:30)
  • Nabi: God's Prophet (Quran 19:30)


03  Teachings of Jesus

  • Jesus was sent to confirm the message of the past prophets, Abraham, Noah, and Moses, that is to believe in One God, the Creator of the heavens and the earth. This is evident in The Bible and validated in The Quran.
  • Jesus taught Divine law and wisdom to the people of his time. 
  • On his second coming to this world, he will defeat the Anti-Christ (the false Messiah, also called Dajjal).
  • After his return to this world, he will restore peace and justice and will guide people to submit to One God.


04  Miracles of Jesus

  • He was miraculously conceived, without a father, by the virgin Mary.
  • He spoke to the people from his cradle to defend his mother from false accusations.
  • He healed the blind and the leper and raised the dead with the permission of God (Allah).
  • He was given the knowledge of what people consumed and stored in their houses. 
  • He made a bird from clay and breathed into it and it came to life with the permission of God (Allah)
  • He was neither killed nor crucified, rather God (Allah) raised him to Himself.
